IgboFest Houston
Igbofest Houston is the flagship cultural celebration presented by the Ndi-Ichie Cultural Association and supported by the Ndi Ichie Youth Cultural Foundation.
For more than two decades, the festival has brought together families, cultural groups, performers, and community leaders to celebrate the rich traditions of the Igbo people of southeastern Nigeria.
Held annually in Houston, Igbofest Houston is where culture comes alive through traditional music, dance, storytelling, cuisine, and ceremonial displays. What began as a community celebration has grown into one of the most recognized Igbo cultural festivals in the United States.
At its core, Igbofest Houston is a living classroom where culture is practiced, preserved, and passed down to future generations.

These experiences help nurture cultural pride and strengthen the connection between generations.
Youth participating in Igbofest Houston are able to:
- Experience traditional Igbo music, dance, and masquerade performances
- Learn cultural customs and the meaning behind traditional ceremonies
- Connect with elders and cultural custodians within the community
- Build pride and confidence in their heritage and identity
As one of the largest celebrations of Igbo culture in the United States, Igbofest Houston introduces thousands of attendees each year to the beauty and richness of Nigerian heritage.
The festival brings together people of diverse backgrounds and serves as a powerful cultural bridge between the African diaspora and the broader Houston community. Through shared experiences of music, food, art, and storytelling, Igbofest fosters cultural appreciation, unity, and dialogue.
Through the work of the Ndi Ichie Youth Cultural Foundation, Igbofest Houston continues to expand its impact as a platform for cultural education, youth empowerment, and community engagement.
Support from donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners helps ensure that the next generation can continue to celebrate, learn, and carry forward the rich traditions of the Igbo people.
